We had a good stay at the Oval. The room was spacious and clean and breakfast was good which we can see the Oval from the restaurant. However Kelly who checked us in was not friendly. Not sure she should be working in hospitality as we thought we were dealing with a robot who have no facial expression and no warmth in her tone and can't even smile. The rest of the staff were all friendly with a lovely smile on their face which makes up the bad experience we have encountered initially. Overall the stay was good but the check-in experience has put a sour note on our trip.

I was celebrating my wedding anniversary but nothing was provided for the occasion. No one even recognized the occasion and mentioned happy anniversary. In previous years I have checked in other hotels where something special was provided and was recognized during check in.

Bathroom and Shower has Grohe accessories. These are excellent. Bespoke Wine Bar and Kitchen provides beautiful views of Adelaide Oval. Proximity and access to Adelaide Oval is a big plus. Valet Parking is the only way to get multi in-out privilege and that is expensive.

Comfortable stay minutes from the city centre
We stayed at the Oval Hotel for a conference held at Adelaide Convention Centre. The room was clean, comfortable and very quiet (there was a concert at the oval one evening and despite the noise outside, it was nice and quiet once we stepped inside). Service was excellent. It is within walking distance of city centre.

All pretty standard for a 5-star hotel but this one stands out in its location by the river Torrens with gorgeous walks immediately outside the Oval property. It;s an easy walk to Adelaide's North Terrace museums and shopping,, too.
