Our family had an absolutely wonderful time at the cabin! The view of two 14'ers right off the main deck was amazing, as well as the other surrounding mountains. The cabin itself was great...very spacious and comfortable. Bedrooms were great and the beds were very, very comfortable! The hot tub was the best, especially after my daughter and I hiked the 14'ers! Would highly recommend folks hiking down to the beautiful lake at the base of the mountains. It's a mile walk down to it. (The return walk might be a workout for those not used to uphill walking.) Looked like a great place to go fishing, too. I brought my mountain bike and went for a ride to the far side of the lake where there is an abandoned mine. Very interesting. It's about a 20-minute drive into Breckenridge, which was perfect...not too far, but not too close to get all the light pollution. The stars, and the Milky Way, were amazing!
I would only have two "heads up" for future visitors. First, Lakeview Drive, as well as the driveway up to the cabin itself, are not too friendly for low riding vehicles. You will definitely need to watch where you are going to avoid scraping bottom. It was no problem for our 2000 Honda CRV. Our low profile Hyundia Sonata was a bit more problematic. Go up both of them in low gear! Second, the only common area bathroom was on the bottom floor. The one on the main floor and top floor require going through a bedroom. The road/driveway and bathrooms were not problems for our family, but just adding for an honest review.
Like I said, we had an absolutely wonderful stay at the cabin, and will DEFINITELY be returning in the future!
