I booked a last minute trip to Amsterdam and reserved three nights at Old Nickel, BIG MISTAKE!
I checked into the last available room, went for a late dinner and returned only to soon find out I was sharing with MOULD and BEDBUGS! I immediately regathered my belongings and got out of there as quick as I could. This left me stranded, at 11pm in a city which I almost fully booked. I ’slept’ in the street. I went back early the next morning, equipped with photos and videos. However after mentioning BEDBUGS, the man at reception blatantly ignored me until other guests left the bar/reception area. He eventually told me to come back after eleven when the manager would be in. I came back at eleven, only to be ignored again, sat around for half an hour, still no manager. Reception, some woman (the manager), and another man frantically tried to figure out a way to deal the the bedbugs without the rest of their fully booked hotel finding out. Finally I’m asked to re-explain, and get promised a full refund in exchange for not leaving a review, poor mistake on my end, they just wanted me gone! Two weeks later, still no refund. OLD NICKEL, how do you run a hospitality business, full well knowing you have bedbugs and mould, yet continue to book your hotel and ignore the issue?!
