The pictures of the cottage don't really do it justice. The kitchen/dining/living room area is spacious and extremely comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped, which was good because there is really nothing close by for restaurant options. We enjoyed sitting at the deck table. The only suggestion I would have to make is to thin out some of the smaller trees on the large lawn that slopes down to the water to afford a better view of the lake. We did not use the gazebo. While it is right on the water, it's a little bit hard to see out the windows as they could use a good cleaning. The house itself though was very clean and tidy. we rented the optional kayaks and enjoyed paddling around the lake. The lake is beautiful and very clean. Power boats are allowed on the lake which surprised me a little as it's not that big, and there are nesting loons, but fortunately we were there in September and there was only one boat and water skier on the lake on the weekend, and no one else the rest of the time.
The Wi-Fi was fast and we utilized it to stream music from my phone to a portable speaker that I brought, so it was very pleasant in the evening to sit and chat or read in the very comfortable living room area. One of the must do things in the area is to go to the Jost winery. It's a beautiful winery, it's less than half an hour away, and they have a wonderful tasting room and dining room for lunch. The cottage is only an hour away from Burntcoat and the tidal bore, which is another outing I highly recommend.
