First of all, the location is great. The house is in the Bent Creek area (we're hikers, so we loved being near the experimental forest, Lake Powhatan, the Arboretum and the Blue Ridge Parkway), right off highway 191, but with a secluded rural feel.
Check-in was easy. The keypad at the front door worked great with the instructions Jason gave us. The house was nice, especially the kitchen (we cooked for two of our three nights), and we loved sitting out on the deck to eat dinner. The third night we got take-out from Pad Thai - it is nearby and we loved the ginger and pineapple entree!
We enjoyed the hot tub. It worked well and is quite private. Be aware, because it's a 6-person tub, the cover is very heavy for two people to maneuver. But maneuver it we did, and the tub worked great.
Everything was clean and comfortable. The bed we chose was fine (there are three bedrooms; we chose the back bedroom which I think is the master bedroom), although we'd probably bring our own pillows the next time - that's pretty common for us. The windows were a bit light for our sleeping preferences at night, but again, that's personal to us.
We particularly appreciated the comfortable chairs and sofas in the living room. We've stayed at other places where the furniture was really uncomfortable.
We really had no complaints about the place, and Jason's communication was great.
We'd happily stay again. Great location, good hot tub, well-appointed house. What's not to like?
