I don’t know where to begin. The hot tub was filthy and there was trash around the pool when we arrived (we had the kids pick it up). The grill was horribly gross (mold, etc.) We called right away and left a message (of course check-in is at 5pm after they are closed), texted, and filled out a maintenance form. Ants in the kitchen, and a cockroach crawled across my face as I was falling asleep!!!! The dryer takes three FULL one hour cycles to dry an average load of clothes.
As I said, we contacted someone right away on Saturday at check-in. Sunday at 2:40pm, we receive a voicemail saying maintenance was being notified (not when or who would be coming)....
On Monday, after the cockroach incident, I lose my cool and show up to the realty building in-person (at this point we are jokingly calling it ‘Irene’s Nightmare’). I’m promised that someone is coming to clean the hot tub and grill and pest control. No one shows up all day.
Tuesday, as we are all in our cars literally pulling out of the driveway, a man pulls up and wants to talk about the hot tub. We miss our ferry time.
So it’s Tuesday late afternoon when we can finally use the grill and hot tub (we got there Saturday). Dryer never really worked well. Lots of cockroaches on the decks outside seen throughout the week. First floor smells musty all the time; carpet needs replacing. No DVD for main living room.
We are supposed to be getting some sort of reimbursement for our troubles.
I would use Hatteras Realty again based on the fact that they did eventually send someone out and the fact that I am supposed to be reimbursed, however, I would never stay at “Irene’s Dream” ever again unless major improvements are made.
