Kerrington House
Pros:Comfortable room and bed (though creaky), friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast.
Cons:Wait until the occupants have gone out for the day before going into the room to clean it. This is the only reason we have rated the staff as 3/5.
If you are a heavy sleeper you might sleep well here, which is why we ticked the recommend box, as the room was big, airy and comfortable. But it's on quite a busy road, so the traffic kept us awake until late at night as we are quite light sleepers. Also, the house is a nice big old building, but the walls are surprisingly thin, and we could hear people snoring in two other rooms.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. But what let it down for us was that they let themselves into our room to clean it while we were downstairs at breakfast. Which is not really acceptable in our view, and as this doesn't normally happen in our experience, we weren't expecting it. Perhaps we could have been warned on arrival.

Location:Axminster is not a town I would return to. It has the River Cottage Cafe . This was pretty disappointing given its world wide claim to fame.
Had a family room which was,in fact, 3 rooms. A kitchen sitting room and the bedroom so plenty of space.
The bed was very small for the two of us but that was the only negative.
The breakfast was great and we loved Beatrice, the huge dog who sat with us in the lounge..
Close to the town to go out for dinner.

Noisy
They should not be renting out rooms when the front is being painted and the builders are on the scaffolding outside our window at 8am
