Lovely hotel with a beautiful garden in the back. Breakfast was included in our rate. Walkable to The Bell restaurant for a lovely dinner. Private car park.

What a lovely guesthouse. I really enjoyed my stay. I only stayed for one night as I was visiting my brother in hospital, but I really hope I stay again as it was so cute and the breakfast was delicious. Check in details were sent in a text message and were very easy to follow. Room and en suite had everything I needed. Very impressed.

Home from Home
We enjoyed our stay at West Lodge Hotel. Our double room was situated across the garden in a converted outbuilding. The windows were small and I missed having more natural light during the bright mornings and evenings. It was too cool for me to sit outside although there was a chair immediately outside our door and a range of garden furniture for guests to use. The garden was delightful. I found the double mattress somewhat uncomfortable on my side but my husband found his side of the bed to be firm but comfortable.The rooms were clean and the bathroom had a bath with a shower over. It was a good size. Both main rooms had a door in them which was blocked off. These were a bit disconcerting. There was no drawer space and only one chair. The accommodation was fine for a couple of nights. The breakfast was in the conservatory in the main house and was a very pleasant room. All the tables were set with care and the room felt inviting. There was an excellent choice of buffet breakfast possibilities, including fresh fruit, yoghurts and an impressive choice of cereals and milks. The freshly cooked English breakfast options were prepared and served in an appetising way.

A little gem here.
Building of character with lovely gardens. If the sun shines a lovely place to sit. Ideal spot for touring the area with a lovely pub (The Bell ) great food, just 2mins walk away.

We received a great welcome at West Lodge and were well looked after.. The rooms were comfortable, clean and warm and facilities good. The gardens provided a tranquil haven and breakfast was excellent. We very much enjoyed our short stay, thank you.

Old hotel in need of a new makeover dated furniture, smelly room, odour of toilet smell from the bathroom into the bedroom. Hot rooms. Small bathroom and really small shower cubicle. Shower not warm. Really steep stairs upto bedrooms. Limited parking spaces.
