Bar Harbor and Acadia in the off season is under rated. We had a great stay at The Pathmaker. Check-in was easy, quick and the young lady who checked us in was very nice and helpful. There's a limited number of restaurants open but the staff had put together a list of this open.
The room was basic but clean and had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast each morning was a great way to start the day before going to Acadia. Susie in the restaurant was lovely to chat with.
Directly across the street is an amazing new restaurant, Brasserie LeBrun, which should not be missed.
Enjoyed a lovely holiday night at this perfectly located hotel in the heart of Bar Harbor. Christmas decorations were gorgeous and the breakfast was fantastic. You are provided only 2 main options but the plates were filled with food! The bed was comfy and the bathroom had a heater to set along with bath crystals. Attention to detail is appreciated!
Brand new hotel in Bar Harbor so everything is extremely clean and new. We stayed during the off-season, so the hotel was mostly empty which suited us fine. Breakfast is a make-your-own coffee bar and then a choice of a sweet or savory breakfast that we enjoyed every day. I imagine the place would be noisy if crowded, but we loved that it was quiet and sleepy in December. The basement parking garage was great for keeping the snow off the car.
We had a fabulous stay at the Pathmaker. The staff was full of suggestions for food and drinks, and the breakfast was terrific! We had a great experience!
Perfect quiet getaway for a great price. Location is across the street from grocery store and there are some local bars open in the evening. Relaxing way to enjoy the area without the crowds especially if you enjoy being outside in the winter. (Cadillac mtn road is closed but you can still hike it.)
Hotel was super clean & centrally located. Itâs away from the waterfront, so will be nice during the summer if you need more quiet. Also breakfast is served table service style, not buffet, so bring extra cash to tip.
The Pathmaker Hotel was absolutely stunning. It is a brand new hotel that is oozing with character and comfort. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms have modern decor with charm and a sense of serenity all bundled in one. The bed is what dreams are made of. My husband and I agreed that was one of the best sleeps we have ever had. The coffee and breakfast was delicious. The breakfast was to die for! It is chef prepared each morning with the finest ingredients and the guests best interest in mind. I promise it will leave you wishing every hotel was this mindful of a great breakfast to start the day. Needless to say, this hotel deserves more than a 5 star rating. Everything was perfect and I will definitely be coming back to stay here again.
Loved the room!! Got a toothbrush after asking, which I forgot to bring. The breakfast is also good (Especially the coffee) đ
Also! Beautiful sunrise and coastal location nearby
The hotel was clean. Our room was spacious and the bed was comfy. I wish there was a coffee maker in the room. Breakfast was good. It was quiet because it was the off season.
We never got to actually stay here because the hotel wasnât open for our reservation dates. They moved our reservation to a sister hotel which I plan to give a wonderful review to; however, the management of the Pathmaker hotel has a lot of work to do when they do finally get their elevator inspected and are able to open. They didnât inform me of the change in reservation. I only found out because I came across another persons review ~3 weeks before our stay, and when I called the Pathmaker to inquire they were pretty unconcerned/unapologetic and said that we would be housed at a sister hotel.
BUYER BEWARE! Bait-and-switch may occur. We booked 4 nights and were excited to stay at a ânewâ property. The day before we flew out they called and said they werenât able to have guests and they booked us at a âsister propertyâ. The sister property was 30 years old and probably hadnât been updated in 30 years. Smelled bad. Everything was outdated. Spiderwebs and spiders covered the patio.
I called the manager who bait-and-switched us at least 6 times over 4 days to try and get some help or some answers. She never answered the phone. We were S.O.L.!!!
The whole trip became full of stress and disappointment. Their solution for switching our reservation was a small discount.
Then, when I got Hotels.com to attempt a refund, the owners of The Pathmaker were âunavailableâ so there was nothing Hotels.com could do.
Terrible experience!
