Nicely remolded. We had an issues caused by us. The owner was there to help out within an hour. If you stay there do not lock the door lock. Itâs not just a pass through knob. We locked it and of course the code meant nothing at that point. Like o said great response and we moved right along. We will stay there again
Extremely clean home. Everything was operational. We were there just for the night, so we didn't need to use anything in the kitchen but the refrigerator. But everything was there. Great communication from the owner. Kudos to whoever cleans this home -- it was spotless.
Perfectly cozy. Smaller house but it was all my husband and I needed. The house has a very nice remodel. Close to everything in Beckley and state parks. Would stay there again.
We were stopping in the area to visit New River Gorge on the way to visiting our son in North Carolina. The house was conveniently located, within 30 minutes of the Canyon Rim Visitor Center and hikes we planned for the afternoon, 15 minutes from the Grandview Visitor Center we planned to visit on our way out the next morning. It was also close enough to a few restaurants, and there is a Dollar General at the end of the street. The neighborhood is quiet, and close enough to attractions and restaurants, but away from busy touristy areas. The house was just as described, and has been nicely refreshed; we would stay here again. We had no problem finding the house, but note that if using Apple maps, it will actually take you past the driveway, so be sure to drive slowly and keep an eye out for the side-view of the house as shown in the photos above.
This gently renovated home, is clean, quiet and comfortable. No frills, but what is needed is there! We have stayed several times at this property, and it is just right!Well managed, too.
The house is nice, great yard, pleasant place to stay⊠except there is an old furnace that heats through a big floor vent in a main walking area between the bedrooms and bathroom that gets REALLY hot. Luckily my husband noticed it before our 1yo did. It was a big concern for us with a little one. We had to make a barricade to try to prevent our child from getting burned. It is also really loud at night. We had to keep the bedroom doors open to let the heat in. Itâs fine for adults but not ideal for families with small children or pets.
Positives:
--very clean
--great fenced yard for dog (even has a driveway gate)
--remodel was done in spirit of the original depression era construcion--they used what was available and made it look pretty good.
--nice front porch
--new, comfortable furniture and bedding.
--quite neighborhood.
--good price for a house and fenced lot.
--the heating system is very efficient.
Negatives:
--had to remind the host to send us the entry instructions.
--house is not well marked. We arrived after dark and couldn't see the black house numbers on the dark brown porch post. The house numbers face the side of the house so they cannot be seen easily from the street. The mailbox directly in front of the house shows the neighbor's address so it looks like the rental is actually not the address it should be. Entering a fenced property, after dark, is a good way to get shot so we were VERY tentative in approaching the house. We finally found an old image of the house on Google Streetview which showed the correct, though very faded, house numbers, convincing us that the house was indeed the one we were looking for.
--the neighborhood is a bit sketchy. The three or four lots to either side are well kept and presentable but there are a few houses along the street which look abandoned. We would not have stayed if there had not been a fence around the yard.
If you're from West Virginia (we are) and have lived in a coal town before (we have), this property is just like you'll remember.
Very clean in a quiet neighborhood within a quick drive to gas stations and food. 30 minute drive to New River Gorge National Park! Beautiful, big yard that our dog had tons of fun running around in! 10/10 would stay again!
This was a single night stay for my family as we drove from Florida to Pennsylvania. The home was clean and cute. The fenced in yard was a huge bonus for the pup. It is directly off the highway so it doesnât add time to your drive.
It says newly remodled but, in this house, it was cheaply and pooly done. There is no "luxurious " tub to soak in. It is old and stained. Cheap towels. No extras like kleenex. This place is not conveniently located to anything. While GPS brings you to the house, there is no visible house number. The main TV is old. No television package is available. I would never stay here again or recommend it.
Easy access by car to great hiking trails, beautiful views. The house was clean and cozy - very relaxing after a day of hiking! Perfect place to stay for my husband and I and our dog.
The property was a great location for our hiking trip in New River Gorge. Host communicated quickly, the house had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Thank you
