This is a very beautiful old 1910 home that needs love and a very deep deep-cleaning! We somewhat enjoyed it, but would not stay here again. One of the bedrooms on the second floor leaked during a rainstorm so we had to put out a soup pot. It was humid and the rest of the home was very damp the entire time-- there were no dehumidifiers. The floors were sticky. We wore socks. One bedroom had a fridge stuffed with gross half-eaten food. For the price, we expected better in terms of cleanliness. The porches were filthy: covered with grime, unswept, wall cobwebs, wasp nests, paint peeled so badly that we wondered if our small kids were being exposed to lead, rotting front stairs. The side entryway porch was dirty and entryway was full of owner stuff: fake xmas tree, cans of insect killer/pesticides, tools, etc. Upon entering and following the instructions for the key code, a burglar alarm went off, scaring us all! I guessed the password and it worked. Most kitchen shelves were packed with half-eaten food (former guests? who knows) and there was no shelf space except for an empty & clean kitchen fridge. Kitchen gear were stuffed haphazardly into spaces with random stuff & messy. Half-full liquor bottles were stashed around (below a globe, on a side table) Downstairs bathroom stunk like urine, we washed it daily ourselves to no avail. We would not stay here again and wish the owners the best of luck in cleaning up this lovely antique home, which has lots of potential!
