Room was very nice. Would be helpful to get better hot tub instructions. Used the Huntley side since it was extremely cold and the Shoshone side was only a small indoor one that leads to a pool. Great stay and no problem with checking in instructions but a little unnerving to get them 24 hour in advance.
I see all of the positive reviews from the skiers but our experience was not the same. There was a âfunny smellâ upon our arrival - like a nursing home. The furniture was quite outdated. We were told there was laundry service available which there was not. Where we had to park was quite a distance from where we stayed yet we were not told that and as a result we carried our luggage down a very long breezeway up several stairs prior to ever getting to the resort.
We've stayed in the Shoshone, other Big Sky properties and many VRBO's around Big Sky, but those always had local property management, not Vacasa. We had 2 small issues we've never had we booked a shoshone room through Big Sky. It smelled STRONGLY like cleaning chemicals. To the point we got headaches. Also, there were some lights that weren't working. But we figured out these issues on our own, no biggie. We did have 2 issues that required help and when we called Vacasa, I was connected to someone in a call center in another country. They had such a strong accent I could hardly understand them. After we established that he couldn't help me, he said he would have the local property manager reach out. It took a while for this to happen and during the time, I was able to call the resort itself and they were kind enough to help us out, even though we didn't rent directly through them. Also they wouldn't allow us to even request a "late checkout" on our final day. We stayed here on closing weekend, so closing day was our checkout, meaning there was no one checkin in after us. But, in Vacasa's paperwork (somewhere I didn't read) it says you must request a late checkout a minimum of 2 days ahead of time. We've stayed at almost every property in big sky a decade, and never come across this. Going forward, I won't say "never", but I will try to avoid booking with a Vacasa managed property in favor of Big sky directly, or an actual local property management company.
Great ski in/ski out. 2 bathrooms. Full kitchen. Ski storage overnight. Hot tub. Murphy bed was so convenient. But they falsely advertise washer/dryer. They are in basement, but behind locked door that we couldnât access. We asked front desk and Vacasa and they said sorry for the inconvenience but you canât use them. They are only for Huntley Hotel guests, not Shoshone Condominium guests.
We had a great stay. The room was clean and well maintained. The fold out Murphy bed was surprisingly comfortable. Slight hiccup with the parking lot access code as the hotel had recently changed it a Vacasa did not get the update
. Everything else was great
Property was clean, comfortable and tidy with good basic amenities. It was noisy as the patio door faced the entrance to the building so there were busses and cars dropping people off all day. Also, we couldnât keep our patio door open because people would smoke underneath our patio window. We were only on the second floor so the smell was pretty strong. The photos of the condo really didnât show an accurate view.
