My flights got moved around (thanks Delta) so I wound up showing up way earlier than expected. Property manager checked on cleaning crew and let me in early. Super awesome experience. It helped me out a lot. They were very communicative and I felt I wouldn't be let out to dry.
The property listing is misleading. This is not an entire "home" but half of a duplex. That didn't matter, as I think the other half was unoccupied at the time. But it would have been nice to know this.
The property was comfortable. There were three issues for me, however. First, there was this odd smell to the place. It wasn't nasty, just odd. It took me a while, but I determined it was this weird "plug in" scent thing. I pulled that and it eventually cleared up. Note to managers - use neutral things. The place was relatively clean, so no need to cover up with heavy, weird smells.
Second, the doors and windows are not secure. The bathroom window does not latch shut. You can slide it open from the outside effortlessly. It's tiny, so you'd have to send in a child or trained monkey to get in, but windows should be able to latch shut. The front door also did not have a proper mortise for the deadbolt. It was operating strictly with the striker plate. This is not secure. Neither door was very solid, either.
Finally, the neighborhood is pretty rough. There were people hanging out down the street all times of the day making "business transactions" of one sort or another. It was just sketchy.
