I was coming in after a long night of travel (arrived around midnight) and had work the following morning. This hotel appeared not to be near any clubs or bars, but there was loud club music that played until nearly 2am that could be heard clearly in the room I was assigned. Check in was also delayed because of a computer problem, the receptionist wasn't able to give me a key for nearly 30 minutes. They kindly walked me to my room though and opened it with a master and brought a key card once the hotel's program was working again. The receptionist, very nice and friendly. The location of the room (first floor near the entrance) was not great due to the noise level. I rarely give hotels a review because it is what it is when staying somewhere, but this was obnoxious.

An older hotel with a bit of character. On arrival thought it might be too far out of centre but it’s a nice stroll along to Boston Common and other attractions.

Biggest problem was that the elevator was too slow. Seemed like it was broken. But, would still recommend this well kept and updated old hotel with its charm and character.

There was a continuous loud banging from a pipe or something outside my parents’ room when they went to bed. There was no phone in their room, so they used their cel phones to call us and we used our room phone to call down to the front desk. The clerk there wouldn’t take the request from us to send a maintenance worker, but said our parents would have to go down in person to ask. Terrible—they were in their PJs and didn’t have a room phone. They gave up and tried to sleep all night but badly with the noise.

Rude and inflexible

Hotel was rude to me and did not work with me when my business trip schedule changed. They billed me anyway for the ENTIRE stay. All I asked was to change my travel dates since my meeting schedule changed and they would not do it and charged me for 3 days!

Superb location. Decent room and bathroom. Very nice lobby and entrance at the hotel. I realize it’s an older building but the elevator issues (not coming, needing to call it several times) was a pain. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The hotel needs an upgrade. For the price per night is definitely needs to feel more luxe. The location is fantastic. Water pressure in the room was horrible. Their should be more than just the location for this hotel. It was just ok inside. Nice staff though.

this is the worst experience I’ve had booking through Expedia. This hotel reeks of weed and the employees are incredibly uncourteous and unhelpful. my room was dirty, the shower attachment was practically detached, our room was serviced once over a 3 night stay, the carpet was stained brown with loose threads, do not stay here or trust Expedia to protect you during your stay. Expedia requested to compensate me on behalf of the hotel but refused to because there was no record of my complaints. please don’t waste your time here!!

Our room was comfortable and charming. All the basic amenities. The hotel itself was quiet, but Boston is a big city so there is some traffic and pedestrian noise, to be expected. Staff is friendly and helpful from housekeeping valet to front desk.
