Check in was easy with the code. We took our stuff in, I started looking around for extra pillows, pillow cases and top sheets, since the beds only had a bottom sheet and the scratchy-ist top cover ever! Found a bug on the three bare pillows (no pillowcases or tops sheets in the home) in the closet, which prompted my search. When I pulled the bed back, there was dead bugs along the baseboards, window sills, etc. It was not clean. We immediately called the owner, then VRBO. I sent emails with photos, etc. We packed out our stuff out and left. We were told that we would be receiving a refund from VRBO, then the lady from Evolve followed up with a call saying we would be refunded. Now we are still waiting on our refund from Evolve. They are saying they are still discussing the refund three weeks later. The person who called and said we would have the refund, will not call us back. I would have never booked, knowing it was a third party rental. I am not a complainer, we travel often using VRBO, Air B and B, etc. I have never had this much trouble! Whether it was bed bugs or not, it was dirty and should not have had dead bugs caked behind the beds or window seals. It truly looked like bedbugs! He was willing to immediately heat treat the house that evening, but no one would have been comfortable. Plus, would he have really been able to on a Friday evening after hours, very unlikely. I am still waiting for a return call after 4 calls this past week, and our refund.
