Our stay at the Ruby Red was comfortable and relaxing. Kelly was responsive and her home is lovely with lots of space to lounge around and many nice amenities. The views are beautiful and made for some great sunsets. Although we enjoyed our stay, there were some things that made our vacation fall short of our expectations. Three days before our stay, Kelly informed us that the hot tub was not working and they were waiting on a part. Unfortunately, it didn’t arrive until after our stay. We were also looking forward to using the kayak and paddle board, but they had been tossed prior to our stay and we weren’t informed of that until we inquired. Kelly stated she would remove the kayak and paddle board from the listing but they were still listed as of the time of this review. Also, the water level is pretty low immediately surrounding the dock and you would have to wade through the grass to get to open water, so it isn’t really swimmable. Our kids had no interest in jumping off the dock, though we did do a bit of fishing. Lastly, there is a bright street light between the backyard and adjacent property, ten feet from the hot tub. Although this is out of Kelly’s control, if you were hoping to do any star gazing from the back yard, the street light makes that impossible. Between the heat and the street light, the backyard attracted a lot of grasshoppers, making the patio not usable at night. Though our stay was very relaxing, our best memories were made away from the property.
