We just returned from our visit to Rising Sun and highly recommend this property. Home is spacious w/ comfortable layout. Plenty of room at the table for our family of 7. If you travel with larger parties, you know there's typically a few issues but, we had none!
Our family has a list of requirements when traveling: 1) Spacious bedrooms, comfy beds, pleasantly decorated, adequate lighting; 2) Family pets without weight restrictions (We have a Saint Bernard) travel everywhere with us; 3) Spacious kitchen; 4) Firepit; 5) Hot tub. This property met all.
Navigation: All three vehicles found the house w/o difficulty and easy accessible paved roads. Most homes with a view of this level require 4x4's on steep gravel. This home is in a community, but nothing but silence and water from the creek below flowing.
Furnishings: Comfortable beds, ample high-quality pillows, sofas, nice rugs, etc. The floors were clean and gorgeous. Not always the case when pets are allowed. No smell or evidence of previous guests besides a few scratches on the bedroom door. They do a great job staying on top of it and have vaccumes available for those like me who like to keep it tidy daily.
Hot water: No one understands how important this is until you're traveling with a large family. This property is stocked with a tankless system that allows instant hot water not only for showers, but also a direct spicket that can easily fill the hot tub with HOT water! :O We were seriously concerned when we arrived to a cold hot tub that was half full (due to freezing temps/frozen water hose) but easy/fast communications by Suzanne and we were back up a running by the time we were ready to jump in! MUCH appreciated!
Kitchen was fully stocked with nice pans, utensil, spices, cling wrap, etc. We did bring of our own, but was really surprised to see most already there. We were thrilled to find a nice air fryer/baker available! Made cooking a breeze. Outdoor grill flames were lacking, so we skipped it and baked chicken instead. Not a disappointment because it was freezing outside anyway.
Ample trails w/maps available, but our favorite was The Forge on Quiver Full Farm. Jeremy taught us to make knives and axes! I'm out of shape, but had a blast! It wasn't hard at all. Highly recommend! We also recommend shopping in downtown Burnsville. It's adorable and has local made ware. Toe River Arts is amazing!
We highly recommend this property and will stay again in the future! THANK YOU!
