I stayed for a week and Vera is a great host and the front and rear yards are available for your pets to play and make home. Close to town and the northern beaches via western arterial rd. Large living area with plenty of seating and everything else you need for a long stay.

Home away from home
Vera’s house is spacious with everything you need to have a comfortable stay. Located near shops for food across the street and not far from the airport, night market and Esplanade. The host was very accommodating and ready to make your stay as best as possible! I would stay here again.

We had a 4 night stay in this property to do some sightseeing across Cairns. This was the perfect base for us to stay and complete all the touristy bits. There were 4 of us in total and the property was plenty big enough for 4-6 people. Vera was brilliant from the moment of arrival to departure, helping point us to the local shops for the basics and helping with any queries we had. Air con was great in all rooms. The accommodation is basic but great value for money compared to other Air bnbs/hotels around and just a short Uber ride from the espionade ! Overall if your just using it as a place to sleep then you cant go wrong. Thanks for a great stay

Vera was an excellent host. He made me feel more than welcome. He went above and beyond to try to help me as much as possible with anything I needed. I came to cairns alone and i did not feel alone with vera. He was most gracious and i appreciate him very much.

A week in Cairns visiting family and doing some diving and tourist activities.
The accommodation was clean and comfortable and provided all the amenities we required (such as a kitchen and washing machine). A car is required as it is too far to walk to the Esplanade and restaurants etc although there are shops a short walk away. A great basic clean and affordable stay.

Worst stay ever
Arrived early evening, host appeared polite on greeting. Went to IGA across road for some food and got bad vibe of area. This was later confirmed by what could only have been a stolen car being thrashed with screeching tyres around the local area, often seen and heard speeding up and slowly cruising past our rental car parked in street. This continued from about 10.30 pm to 2.30 am. Heard host move around through floorboards above and asked to put our car behind fence for safety concerns. Host never replied. Watched out through window for rest of night as local youths regularly walked past. I was also concerned about lack of security in house, with security screen door not locking and no lock on fence gate, and only a flimsy round doorknob lock on entry door. After a sleepless night for both me and another family member, being on holiday for only 1 week first time in 6 years, we left this accommodation at 7.30 am so it would not ruin our entire stay in FNQ. Host never replied to my advice we were leaving after our first night, even though we had booked for 4 nights. Later enquiries about a partial refund for the unused 75% of our paid stay due to reasonable safety and noise concerns were only met with flat refusal and insults from the host and Stayz stating their policy was not to get involved in such negotiations. Later research revealed an article by QLD police stating Manoora was one of the 3 worst crime areas of Cairns. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Everything we needed
We stayed for a week and Vera’s had all the amenities required to make our holiday pleasant. Check in was super easy, as was check out. Vera was kind enough to allow an earlier check in as well, which was great. Only really had two issues during our stay. Surrounding neighbours could get quite noisy at times and some kind of alarm went off every morning at 1am. Some mornings it would go off several times, others only once. Not sure where it was coming from, but it was quite annoying being woken at that hour every day. Otherwise it was a comfortable stay, everything we needed, easy access to the city and surrounds and affordable.

We really enjoyed our stay at Vera property. Vera is a wonderful host. Provided everything, even gave us some delicious fruit from his fruit trees. House was very spacious and had all the amenities. The best part was if we wanted anything Vera was just upstairs to provide us. Very very good house for family stay. Each room had AC and kitchen was also very clean. I would definitely come back if I come to Cairns again. Very centrally located and spacious house. Thanks Vera.

The hosts were lovely sharing oranges and mandarins from their trees on the property, hot water was not in plentiful supply, a hot shower in the morning was difficult to achieve. I had imagined cooking meals but the stove proved very unreliable, the coil elements seemed unable to be controlled and remained extremely hot regardless of where the dial was, very little bench space and I know this is out of the owner’s control but the tiny weeny orange ants ran rampant on the benches, some insect spray would have been handy, we stored everything in the fridge to avoid the ants in our food. The strip of shops across the road proved very handy for take away offering kebabs, fish and chips and pizza. Also out of hosts control were the neighbours and their loud music. Basically paid for what we got, cheap and a bed to sleep in.

My partner and I stayed for a couple of nights. We really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful backyard for our dog. A few shops just across the road. A park with a stream for dogs to have a swim just a minute walk away. Clean bathroom, kitchen and rooms. And the best pricing. Would definitely stay again.

The property is spacious, we had two families stayed for four nights and there are plenty of room to accomdate everyone. Vera the host is extremly helpful and friendly. Everything we need is in the house, some maybe benefit from an update or a coat of paint, but for the price we paid we think its excellent vale for money. For people looking for a modern, fancy, spotless clean and new hotel, this place is not the ideal choice, but it will suit groups or familes looking for a economical, convinient place with cooking and laundry facilities. Things we like: - Price! - smart TV is wifi connected - aircon in every room - large undercover space in back yard - large beds, sofabed and table easyily accommadated our group of 8 people - IGA, BWS and some takeaway place right around corner I think the place will definetly look better with a new coat of paint and some new carpets, but overall we really enjoyed our stay. We did not see any cockroaches or bugs mentioned in other reviews.
