The home is situated on a hill that provides a breathtaking view of a wide expanse of the Columbia River Gorge. The living room and master bedroom have remarkably spacious windows that provide an airy feeling that is enjoyable in both sunny and stormy weather. The adjacent deck has a heat lamp, fire pit and gas grill. It is a relaxing area in which to read a book in a chair, sip a drink and enjoy sharing the moment with another.
The kitchen is well-stocked with plates, utensils and glasses, along with a variety of pots, pans and appliances. The living room couches are comfortable and the decorative fireplace lends a warmth and coziness to the interior. The TV is quite large and easy to operate as we watched numerous March Madness games.
The game room downstairs was decorated in a fun, retro fashion that is reminiscent of the 70s and 80s, with an eclectic collection of memorabilia that are reflective of sports, military and fantasy influences. There is a pool table, refrigerator and another TV down there as well.
The bedroom has a comfortable futon-style bed, dark shades on the windows for sleep and privacy, and an ensuite bathroom with a sizable shower and double sinks. The decor of the bedroom, along with much of the home, is tastefully presented in black, white and grey, which gives it a striking chiaroscuro atmosphere, particularly in the evenings.
Throughout the process of renting the home, our host Travis was thoughtful, courteous and communicative.
