The setting is absolutely magnificent and has great potential as a place to relax. It is a very dog friendly place. Time spent on the deck was lovely. There were about 15 chairs and a table outside on the deck. The hot tub was clean, but we weren’t told about the lighting and could easily have slipped on steps in the dark. Except for the dining room, the furniture was worn out and uncomfortable. The kitchen appliances were good so preparing meals was fun. The house heater worked well once we figured out how to run it.
The management, apparently not through VRBO, left no instructions on how to use the house, i.e., the combination to the hot tub lock, running the house heater, information about the pass code for the the one tv that worked, and no information about the area (restaurants, parks, stores, and hikes). They sent an email with some of this information on the day of our stay.
Additional management charges, not including the pre-paid pet fee, through VaCasa, were more expensive than was the rental fee. As far as we could tell, they responded to texts, put the laundry in the dryer and made the beds after we left. There may have been more that they did that wasn’t apparent to us.
