We had a seamless process booking and checking in. The owner let us know the oven had died and was on-site trying to repair it when we arrived but he had advised us beforehand so it wasn’t a surprise. He left us with a toaster oven to make do in the meantime. The next day he returned with a replacement oven.
The house was not quite as advertised. The photos must be from when it was listed a few years ago, so there was more random stuff against the walls, etc. The view wasn’t quite as advertised either since the foliage has been neglected since it was listed and has grown up quite considerably. There’s also no indication of long trip down to the water on stairs made out of decking, logs, rocks, etc. Thankfully none of us had accessibility issues or this would have been a major problem.
We found the kitchen was supplied fairly adequately but could use some essentials like a milk container, cheese grater, etc.
None of our group found the beds to be comfortable at all, except for the kids! Haha! However, the the top bunk that my kids were sharing cracked along the front; thankfully no one was hurt.
The main living area (kitchen/living/dining room) does not have a bathroom. So you have to go upstairs for it. And if you’re down at the water, it’s a very long trek up all the stairs outside and then another flight when you reach the house! It’s too bad that there’s no washroom on that level.
It was just okay. We enjoyed the week overall but likely will not return.
