We were so grateful to all gather together at this beautiful cabin!
Our son's thoughts he wrote in their "Blah Blah book". ;)
The Myers' extended family gathered here from VA, OH, and NC. for 3 days. The property is spacious and relaxing with plenty of areas for kids to explore. The children enjoyed finding crawfish in the creek and even found a painted turtle we affectionately called "Timmy".
Our children walked the creek on the property and even named a portion of it their HQ, headquarters! The walkie talkies added to their adventures.
We took a walk up the ridge and over down to the Elk River and swam. A small group of us split off to walk back on Upper Ranch Rd, which crossed over the creek multiple times with full shade and beautiful sights to see. (including tons of tiny fledgling toads hopping out of our way as we traped through.)
As Nana, I appreciated the variety of kitchen tools. Even having a rolling pin to have a granddaughter help me make raspberry cream cheese empanadas with the ingredients we brought. We appreciated having the "if you see it, you can eat it" items in the pantry, especially when we had forgotten a spice.
The firepit was a nightly highlight as well, with the fire lending itself to relaxing and settling into the night.
Thank you for creating such a beautiful space here at the Head of the Hollow!
Our host, J.R. Stamples was so attentive to help us find their home and very accommodating and generous. Such a wonderful experience together!
