The property totally took me by surprise. It was lovely from beginning to end. The valet met us right away and directed us where to park and unload. He unloaded everything, waited until we checked in, and took our luggage cart to our room.
I highly recommend paying for the valet parking. You can stay at this Inn and never need your car.
The staff was professional, courteous, and helpful in every way. The room was very clean and so much nicer looking than even the photos on the website show.
I loved all the history and even some of the original features kept in place at the renovation in the 1980's. Original hardwood pine floors from the 1700's, fireplaces, and wood details abound. Just beautiful. We even had open doors to a small balcony overlooking a beautiful courtyard.
You are right near the Charleston market, so many restaurants, the carriage ride and harbor tour companies, etc. It was perfect.
You cannot go wrong at the Lodge Alley Inn. We had the one-bedroom studio. It completely suited our needs. Simple, elegant, with a small coffee bar with fridge. No need for cooking inside. Restaurants abound!
