Hilton Garden Inn Charlotte – Very Disappointing Experience with Service and Management
Our stay at this hotel was unfortunately far below expectations. While the property itself appeared decent, the staff attitude and management response completely ruined our experience.
We went down for breakfast and waited over 20 minutes before anyone approached our table. When the waiter finally arrived, the interaction was far from friendly — the staff seemed irritated and dismissive, which made the start of our day unnecessarily unpleasant. For a hotel under the Hilton brand, this level of service was surprising and disappointing.
Later, due to airport closures, we decided to extend our stay by one more night. We confirmed the extension twice with the front desk, even making sure the change was properly updated. However, when we returned later, we were told that the reservation was never extended. The receptionist on duty gave us attitude instead of offering help or an apology. When we asked to speak with a manager, Mr. R. Her came to assist — but instead of resolving the issue calmly, he was defensive, tense, and shockingly rude. Rather than trying to de-escalate the situation, his tone and body language only made things worse.
We travel frequently and understand that mistakes can happen, but what truly matters is how staff and management handle them. In this case, there was no ownership, no apology, and no effort to make the situation right.
