We stayed with our children, their spouses and our grandchildren, 6 adults, 3 young children. The house was spacious. The large garden had plenty of room to play cricket, and there was room for inflatables in the pool. There were several outdoor and indoor seating areas. The kitchen was well equipped though a few more tea towels would have been useful.
The house is in a fantastic location, walking distance (with young children) to the shops, restaurants and chateau of Azay le Rideau, and a boulangerie and bar/tabac in Cheille.
There is parking over the road and we could always get a space.
The night market in Azay on the Friday evening is worth a visit.
We were disappointed with the cleanliness of the house: the sofas had clearly not been moved for cleaning (filthy when retrieving a toy that had rolled underneath) and there was a half eaten chocolate bar on a shelf and a wrapper under one of the beds. We had been told that we could not arrive before 6pm as a deep COVID clean was being done. This had not happened.
The downstairs toilet didnât always flush properly. The marble slab in the living room did not seem to be securely attached and could be a hazard.
We were concerned to find a cctv camera directed at the pool, as we had not been told about this and what it was being used for.
Overall we enjoyed our holiday.
