Our stay at the hayloft was more or less OK: a very quiet location, and a good pub/restaurant right next door. Also the owner was forthcoming in letting us recharge the batteries of our e-bikes and store them in his garage.
However:
1) it was very hot under the roof in these warm summer days. This place is probably better suited for another season.
2) this place has several uncomfortable stairs, outside and also inside the loft itself. It is better suited for younger people.
3) the living room was rather nice and comfortable, although the couches had wobbly legs, which gave a feeling as if they could break down at any moment.
4) the sleeping room, although it looked nice and cosy in the pictures, was too small for a double bed to fit in. It had very low beams in the ceiling, so getting in and out of bed was rather difficult to manage and very uncomfortable
5) the kitchen had all the necessary equipment; however we missed a freezer compartment in the fridge. Also we did not manage to get the electric stove going...
6) the property has a beautiful garden with old trees, which we loved to go into and be refreshed after a hot and tiring car ride. However later on we read in the provided property manual, that clients were not allowed to go into the garden, since this was considered to be private property. We find this a rather unwelcoming attitude of the owners. We would understand if there were certain restrictions made in the use of the grounds, but to forbid people to have a short refreshing stay in the garden in this summer season, is really not how we are used to travel since many years with other organisations/property managers.
None of these features were mentioned in the advertisement.
Conclusion: no, we will not come back to the Hayloft, and we will not recommend this property to friends, family and clients.
