with some nice ironic touches . . . Seriously, this is an ideal place to stay alone or as a couple (or use the sofa bed to add one). I stayed 10 nights in March, 2024, in town for theater, music at various venues (Symphony Center to jazz clubs), museums, urban ramblings. The accommodation is a half-block from Lake Shore Drive and access to walking along the lakefront trail or taking a bus to anywhere along Michigan Avenue or Union Station. In the other direction, you have 3-4 blocks to the red line "L', a grocery store, and many restaurants, bars, and shops. You are safe walking in this neighborhood day or evening. I was, and did. The accommodation itself is exactly as pictured, comfortably and rather elegantly furnished. The kitchen is well equipped; the bed is comfy firm. Yes, you are on the third floor without an elevator. There are actually only 2 flights of interior stairs, and the hallway and staircase are architecturally beautiful. There are also external stairs up to the front door.
The street is so quiet that it is hard to believe you are indeed in the heart of Chicago.
Communication with the hosts was quick and easy when needed, instructions and entry were clear.
I'm home now, so happy to have found and stayed here. I hope to return.
