We decided to give this property another try after our summer stay. The location is ideal to all things we want to do and other family in the area.
House was definitely cleaner than our last stay, however, the evidence of mice was apparent. There were traps everywhere and mouse poop in the kitchen along with the garage/ping pong room. Not too big of a deal as this is spring time in the mountains and mice are coming in to stay warm. I get it.
The biggest issue that no one could over come was the the lack of hot water. Noticed it the first night there, but assumed it was just taking a while to get to the back of the house, so we skipped bathing for the first night. Second day we were gone most of the day and noticed again in the evening that NO HOT WATER. Called the 800 number to vacasa and the local property manager ( I assume) finally called back. Was a bit insulting as to what to do and spoke to me as if I were a 2 year old child (I have been a property owner and in the construction industries for many years and I know all about reverse faucets, etc). They sent a handyman out on Saturday (day 3 of our stay) who assertained a problem for sure as the insta=hot was making hot water but it wasn't pushing to the rest of the house. He was unable to fix.
Property manager indicated that she would credit us for 2 days of our stay. To date, I haven't seen the credit, but will wait a few more days.
This property has soooooo much potential. There are many other choices for property managers and local companies that really care about the homes in their portfolio. Vacasa is the biggest issue here. Their fees are excessive and extremely high. I wish the property owners would wise up and use a local company to manage their property. As a former VRBO owner, the only reason I can ascertain why the owners do not switch, is that their contract with VACASA has them strapped in for many years. Really sad.
