Palm Lake Cottage was just what we needed for a peaceful relaxing weekend away. The cottage was well stocked with the essentials and lots of little extras, too. The beds were comfy and we slept very well. Very quiet and dark, great for stargazing.
The men enjoyed the fishing at the private lake in the property most of all. The fish were hitting the hook practically before the bobber touched the water. We didn't swim or kayak, but there were paddle boards, kayaks, and a floating dock if that's your thing.
A really restful country setting, but not a far drive from lots of attractions. Heading about 1/2 an hour in different directions will take you to Helen, GA, Rabun GA, Clayton GA, Taccoa Falls or Tallulah Falls, all of which are worth a visit. In Clarkesville, the Miles Through Time car museum and thrift/ antique store are well worth an afternoon of your time.
Cliff was a wonderful host. He gave us some yummy breakfast and lunch spot suggestions, was always available if we needed anything, but was never intrusive on our time or space. And Sophie the Golden was a beautiful delight.
The cottage is very, very dog friendly. We didn't bring ours, but there is a fenced yard, a large outdoor kennel, food and water bowls inside, treats, and a dog bed all available if your fury family members travel with you.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Palm Lake Cottage if you're looking for a peaceful, relaxing stay.
