The abundance of space in this property felt like home, rather than a lakefront cottage. Good sized rooms throughout, with the bonus room/play area and guest room on the lower level were more than adequate for our needs but would have been great for a larger family or group share situation.
We found most of what we needed in the kitchen, and due to the proximity to grocery stores and restaurants - compared with what we're used to - it was easier for us to dine in. A little more organization of drawers/cabinets would have saved time spent searching/shopping for one or two basics (baking sheet, foil or plastic wrap). We made it work so no doubt others will as well.
It was nice to be welcomed with a gift basket of helpful goodies and a binder with info on the house and area in general, a nice touch.
The decor was one of the most impressive features of all. Creatively refurbished pieces, classic/vintage accent pieces, tasteful Southern style with a modern touch, and framed art throughout gave this home those extra special touches you don't find often, perhaps not even in your own home. Brooke and Red have put a lot of time, attention and love into this lakeside retreat, and it shows.
