This little house is very clean and neat, has excellent plumbing and appliances, comfortable firm beds, and is in the charming German Village area with its interesting variety of 19th century homes. The owners are very good at communicating and are most gracious and helpful. One important caveat, though. This is not a place for senior citizens or anyone who isn't in good physical shape to stay in. The bedrooms are on the second floor while the single bathroom is on the first floor down an old winding wooden staircase. Hard for us seniors who need to get up in the middle of the night to relieve ourselves. And the bathroom is extremely narrow and has only two hooks on which to hang towels or washcloths. The staircase to the second-floor bedrooms make it extremely difficult to get a large, heavy suitcase up there. No problem if you're traveling fairly light, but we were driving back from three months down south, headed home to Michigan, so we had really large suitcases which we had to leave down in the living room. The washer and dryer are very good but are in the basement, with another staircase to manage. No problem for younger, fit people, but not ideal for older folks. The heat has to be set no higher than 68, which is fine for the first floor. But given the drafty nature of an old house like that, it's quite cold upstairs during the winter. Younger folks would enjoy this place but older folks with any kind of physical issues should rent another place.
