The good:
This house fit our group comfortably and we had a great time. The location was great (next door to Egyptian hills resort) and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the proximity to the lake/ dock, really enjoyed swimming and the pontoon boat and kayaks!
There are several things I should mention- some of which I consider major safety hazards.
The house was large and had the basics, but several things were in disrepair- lights out/not working, broken dock ladder, outlets not working, ice maker not working.
It wasn’t the cleanest - while major things in the house were clean, corners have been cut- junky stuff in closets/garage, stuff left under beds, outside was dirty, icemaker not working, there were some personal effects left in a drawer.
Our internet did not work the entire time we were there (we did notify the managers during our stay, and I specifically asked about this prior as I had read a review where this was an issue). The manager offered a personal hotspot, but it wasn’t up to the full task. The TVs were streaming only- so if no wifi…. Then what?
Our sewer backed up the first day and we couldn’t enjoy sitting on the deck due to the smell. (As homeowners, we understand this happens, and the situation was addressed on Friday)
Major concerns/safety issues:
Privacy- The bedroom window in the basement was lacking blinds over the bed- mirror was directly across from the window….
The front porch was lacking stairs and a small paver was placed as a stair. (We had several people in our party trip and almost really injure themselves)
There was a very large water runoff ditch that has been formed in the driveway.
Deck hand railing was sketchy to say the least
The hot water coming out is SCALDING hot, so much so I wouldn’t allow my kids to take a shower without supervision
The property managers showed up two times without prior notification to us.
The first to fix a broken ice maker (yes, it was broken, but we didn’t call about it) and the second to take the pontoon boat to be fixed.
We had no issues with the boat the prior day, and he seemed confused when I said we had the boat for two days.
If we hadn’t been on the porch, the manager would have taken the boat and we could have been confused/thought the boat was stolen.
Both times, we should have received a text or call to us telling us he would be there.
