We truly enjoyed our stay in Dauphin. The house was skillfully renovated and well stocked, both with provisions and beautiful artwork. It’s a restful place to stay. River road is secluded, a good place to walk, and the neighbors along it are quite friendly. Sephi is an excellent host. He was even kind enough to transport the three of us and the kayaks from the house upstream to a boat launch on the Juniata River, north of Duncannon. We spent nearly six hours kayaking back to the house, much of the time drifting while my teenage son fished from his boat. A popular fishing spot is where the Juniata flows into the Susquehanna. We recommend stopping in Duncannon for ice cream from 3B.
We also spent a day in Harrisburg on electric bikes from Pedago Electric. Traversing the 20-mile Capital Area Greenbelt is fun and easy on an electric bike, even for out-of-shape middle-agers, and the trail borders some of the highlights of city. We particularly liked Wildwood Park and the riverfront.
All and all, a very pleasurable stay, one we would be willing to repeat.
