We went to this magic place for two nights.
Upon arrival we had a very warm welcome by Greivin. He explained us all about the lodge and the offered activities.
Infected by his fascination with the wildlife in the area, especially his love of the quetzal, we booked a quetzal tour for the next morning.
Lodge:
Park-like setting with various pavilions with a lush flower garden and ponds. Already within the lodge there are many different species of birds. Many small places with seats, which invite to stay. Hummingbirds are everywhere. From the lodge, there are small hiking trails on which you can explore the surroundings.
Accommodation:
Small rustic rooms with verandas and views of the greenery. Since it can get quite chilly at night the rooms have a small electric heater.
Restaurant / Bar:
Simple menu with a good mix of local and international cuisine. Salad, herbs and trout come from own cultivation / breeding. The staff is very accommodating, and tries to cater to requests.
Activities:
On the quetzal tour early in the morning, we visited different places and observed quetzals. You can tell how much Greivin knows about nature and how important the quetzals and their conservation is to him.
We felt very comfortable during our stay.
