We had a wonderful visit at the farm. The home was well appointed and had everything we needed. Hayden gave us a great tour of the sheep and our two year old grandson loved petting a baby sheep. We would definitely recommend a stay here. Downtown Elijay has nice shops and there are many good hiking trails. Try the hard cider! Will and Mindy are fantastic hosts - thank you!!
This was such a sweet place to stay with the family. The views were perfect. The owners were friendly. The animals on the property were welcoming and we had an awesome time.
We had a wonderful time here! The house was clean and well appointed. The location was great! We had a wonderful experience on the hayride down to pet the adorable baby sheep. The farm store on site has a lot of great items to choose from, including baked goods and cute gifts. Also, the hosts were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again!
The Sheep Farm was a very Peaceful Place. Very Comfortable surroundings and very Friendly Host. We were looking for a laid back weekend getaway and that was exactly what we got. We enjoyed our delicious lunch at Cantaberryâs Restaurant in downtown Ellijay and then went and checked into the house . Lee and Mindy were the perfect host. Always there if you needed them and never bothered us for anything. We even got to hold a 10 day old sheep!
Our family had a great time visiting and staying at Cress Creek Sheep Farm! The house was well stocked, clean, and comfortable and the hosts were kind and helpful. Our young kids had a great time feeding the sheep, completing the corn maze, riding the tractor hay ride, and generally exploring the farm! We enjoyed apple picking nearby and a few small hikes as well! Beautiful and we would happily return!
A group of us stayed for a girl's weekend getaway. The property is gorgeous and the house is just adorable and the decor is perfect for the sheep farm theme. The owners and their family were on the property as this is a working sheep farm and farm store, so they were available but yet non-intrusive. They were wonderful hosts exemplifying Southern Hospitality, and shared with us information about the farm and letting us interact with the sheep. The newborn lambs were so cute!!!! The house is very well appropriated and clean, and it worked well for our group. We are talking about a return visit next year!!
I canât say enough good things about this property! This is absolutely perfect for your family vacation, girlsâ getaway, or even your solo retreat from it all. The property is stunning. Youâll start your day with coffee watching deer and turkey in the back fields as the sun rises over the mountains. In the evenings the front and back porches are an ideal spot to survey the sheep, chickens, turkey, and other friends that youâve made while staying here. (Cocoa the sheep likes head scritches before bed. Donât disappoint her.)
The home has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It is impeccably clean and beautifully decorated for your farm vacation. A quick trip to the grocery store when you arrive means you can prepare as many meals at âhomeâ as you would like. If you prefer to visit the restaurants in downtown Ellijay, youâre only 4 miles down the road.
This vacation is really made perfect by meeting Lee, Mindy, Hayden, and their whole extended family as they come to the property each day to work the farm and run the store. Their warm greetings each day and advice on places to visit and things to do were lovely. Hayden gave us a private tour of the farm and let us pitch in on some chores (one of which was snuggling the brand new baby lamb that was born that day - Iâll take this chore everyday, please!). And because we visited during the Apple Festival, we joined the family on the Cress Creek parade float to wave along the parade route and keep Barry the sheep company!
