Overall, the Yurt was a fun experience for us all. It was beautiful inside, it was clean, the Latrine was clean and the surrounding area was beautiful. It’s a relatively short drive to the west Glacier entrance, there is a river nearby and hiking/biking trails nearby. I would definitely stay there again, it would have just been nice to know the following to be better prepared:
1. Instructions on how to get to the property should be more clear. Since there’s no cell service, you’ll need your maps started before leaving cell service. After the small sign on the highway there are no additional directions/signs and Apple Maps does not take you right to the unit. There’s also a gait across the road that goes to the yurt, which makes it seem that’s not the correct property. If it had been dark when we got there, I’m not sure we would have found it.
2. The listing says there is an AC unit, which makes me think the unit is completely outfitted with all typical appliances. There is no refrigerator. That works out ok in the winter, but not the summer. Bring a cooler with ice when staying there in the summer.
3. The unit is right by the railroad tracks with frequent trains running day and night. In reviewing the listing, it says it is on railway land, but I didn’t expect to be right by the train. Ear plugs are provided, but if you’re a light sleeper, it will be difficult to sleep.
We enjoyed the electronic-free time, something we should all do more often!
