The location of this cottage couldn't be more ideal. It is away from noise and activity of Center Street, but is a short golf cart ride away from restaurants and the market. Beach access is steps from the cottage which makes it easy to come and go to and from the beach throughout the day.
The other things we loved about the cottage was the rooftop deck - which offers a wonderful view of the ocean and views of the stars at night. The lower level screen porch was also a nice place to spend time. We appreciated the overall character of the cottage - which felt very personal. It has an eclectic mix of antiques and art, which kept it from feeling like a generic and sterile beach rental. It has ample space for four people and a dog - our two adult daughters joined us for several days and it comfortably fit all of us.
The washer and dryer were excellent amenities, and the TV and wi-fi worked well. The kitchen was well equipped with ample dishes and cookware, and we cooked in several nights.
As with other reviews, I will say that the main negative was the overall cleanliness. I realize it is difficult to do a deep cleaning in the time that cottage has to be turned around for the next guest, but there were some things that are just unacceptable: sandy grit on the dining table and inside the refrigerator, spilled liquid in the freezer, food crumbs inside the drawers, food wrappers that were from a previous guest on top of furniture, and a giant human hairball in the windowsill behind the sofa. If you are OCD about cleaning, this is not the place for you.
As a previous reviewer noted, the master shower has a lot of mold and mildew around the base, and the outdoor hose was difficult to use.
Additionally, the master bedroom is a very tight fit. It would really benefit from having a queen bed instead of a king. One side of the bed is so close to the wall there is no room for a bedside table for a phone, glass of water, or lamp for reading. We also found the bed itself to be very uncomfortable. The mattress was oddly sloped/leaning and was way too soft for our taste (I realize this is a personal preference).
