Things we really liked:
-Well stocked - plenty of blankets, towels, sheets and pillowcases, as well as laundry pods, plastic wrap, extra toilet paper, garbage bags, etc. We pack extras because property owners can be stingy. Not here! They even labeled all the kitchen drawers so things were easier to find.
-Great yard! We enjoyed the bonfire pit, hammocks and pergola. There was also a playground and treehouse. The lights lining the yard were a nice touch.
-The beach! Lots of private beach frontage and quiet neighbors. It's a rocky part of Lake Huron though, so water shoes are a MUST!
-Plenty of fans and A/C units. We were worried about no central air, but it wasn't a problem. There are A/C units in every bedroom and the main living space, plus extra fans. My bedroom was frigid.
Some areas of opportunity:
-BUGS. We expect bugs in an area like this but there was an excessive amount getting into the kitchen in the evening. We weren't leaving the doors or windows open.
-Yard needs a cleaning. Many spiderwebs on the playground, tree house and pergola. It would be good to have the cleaners take a leaf blower to these items so they're ready for guest use. Didn't love my toddler getting covered in cobwebs.
-Stairs to beach are steep. Not anything the owner can fix, but be aware. It can be tough for people with mobility issues or kids.
Overall, this is a great house for a big group. The house is older and it's not well decorated, but the beach and yard certainly make up for it.
