I repeatedly received communication from the host that they wanted to ensure we had an exceptional stay….”5 star!!!” However, their response to a significant cleaning issue did not bear that out as a true priority.
Upon arrival we found a literally POOP COVERED toilet brush (including on the handle!) in the caddy next to the hall toilet. I don’t even want to know what must have been happening in that toilet and on the floor for that to have occurred, but it was appalling that it was left for us to find and it gave us no confidence that the house had been properly cleaned. I sent a picture of it, in the bathroom, to the host to alert them and it was not addressed or acknowledged by them.
The kitchen/dining table were dirty and the bottle of cleaning spray under the sink was completely empty. They didn't offer to have the cleaners come out again, but even if they did, to me that’s not an actual remedy. It’s not the guest's responsibility to deal with the cleaners during a stay. The home should be clean to start with. One of the house rules is no shoes, but your socks will be black by the end of your stay-we were only there for two full days.
Finally, issues mentioned by past reviewers, like outlets not working, were still not working when we were there. To me, there’s no excuse for that. I would recommend guests avoid the collection of investment homes owned by this host and stay at a home owned and managed by an actual person who might truly care.
