The slide didn’t work for a while. Floors were filthy, loud people outside till after 1 am, beds were very stiff, ended up buying mattress toppers and pillows, daughter had bedbugs in her bed so we left for another hotel 4 days earlier then our original check out date.

I asked for a room on the top floor and was told they put me down for one the day before and when I got there they didn’t have a room on the top floor. I called at 3:30 pm I called the front desk and asked for 2 more to towels he said he would send them right up at 7:30 pm I went to the office and picked up the towels. But other than that it was nice and clean.

Staying at Howard Johnson was SUCH a great experience. We had some trouble with booking because online it says you only need to be 18 to book but over the phone I was told differing numbers. Thankfully after talking to the manager Omar, we were able to book and check in with ease. The hotel was in a perfect area just a few minutes walk to the main strip and for the price point we loved it!

Great Time in Gatlinburg
The hotel is in a great location with great amenities. Easy walk to all the attractions. The only downside is the mattress is uncomfortable, however we are older so that could be part of it. Hotel is kept clean and you will see many bears while staying here.

Stayed here at least 2X a year for the past 7 years. Its location to the town of Gatlinburg is excellent and convenient & walkable. Short drive to SMNP, Dollywood & Soaky Mtn WP. Reasonably priced & never had any issues. Our typical stay is usually 3 to 4 nights usually in July or Aug and of course mid to late October.

My only gripe is that it has one of those ACs which is supposed to be climate controlled but actually just switches off after 15 mins and you wake up in the middle of the night feeling hot, annoying for people who are sensitive to heat but other than that it's a great place with good staff!

Light was shining in our room all night long, it was brighter inside our room then it was outside. Was told our check in was fine for until we left but then the next morning found out it wasn’t. The floors were so dirty our feet were black in minutes

Room was dirty. Hair in the sink. Pulled back covers and there was hair on the bed. Called front desk and they said they had no other rooms and we should have called earlier. We didn’t walk in the room and immediately pull back the covers. Also room was next to pool and it was to close at 10. People still out at midnight talking loud. Will not stay here again.

Our stay was great. The room was very clean and nice. We enjoyed the pool and the kids loved that there was a slide. The hotel was quiet and the decor was nice. Only issue was that the tv had a crack in the corner of the screen, which we told the front desk about. But the tv did work. We would definitely stay here again.
