My wife and I booked this VRBO for a long-weekend away. Communicating with the host was great. Getting there was easy.
When we first got to the cottage we weren’t sure we had the right property. It’s a large cottage but it’s the basement in the back that is the VRBO. Since there were no pics of the front of the property online, we called the host to confirm, which was no problem.
Once we headed to the back, we found the entire place to be covered in thick spider webs, including the entrance door, door handle, key pad, etc. When we went in, we had to vacuum up a dozen giant dead spiders (thankfully nothing was moving) as well as vacuuming all the corners and baseboards for webs. It seemed to me like the place had been cleaned after the last guests but that nobody had been at the property for quite some time to make sure it was ready for us. There were other small issues like the refrigerator had a leak inside, the bbq had been left uncovered with the lid up and was not in usable condition, the sliding patio doors were covered in webs and therefore not usable. Same with the chairs.
Overall, the place is nice. It has clearly been renovated in the last few years and they did a nice job. The kitchen is nice and is well stocked. It is right on the water with a nice view. It has a small dock (you can fit two small chairs). We did enjoy a few nice campfires in the evening.
