Best time the weather was perfect to spend our day/night out by the fire-pit to enjoy the Lake! Last evening we watched the Northern Lights! The home was very comfy could not have been more comfortable for 4 friends to spends a long weekend!
Wonderful location right on the lake! Kayaks and a canoe are available to use on the property. The cabin is clean, comfortable and cozy. We loved the big windows in the living room where we could enjoy watching the wildlife and the lake right outside the windows! Both Gladstone and Escanaba have a wonderful sandy beach, one of the best ones we have seen in Michigan. Lots to do in the area!
Stayed for a week. Great view right in the water. Easy parking for a boat! The house was on a dead end street in a very peaceful and quiet neighborhood. Dear roamed through the yard in the evenings. We would definitely stay here again.
Have stayed here every year for a week with a group of friends and our boys. This was our fifth year be back for #6. Lisa is great the home is always very clean. Thanks from all of us.
Wonderful property. Close enough to anything we'd need in Escanaba and still felt "away from it all" during our stay. Check in was simple and easy, and while the host was always only a text or phone call away, we found ourselves wanting for nothing. Such a great stay.
We did day trips and were within a reasonable distance to everything from this spot. I provided some feedback directly to the manager based on my experience of doing many VRBO rentals and hopefully they've implemented some of them! I will say here though, that if a home 'sleeps 6' there should be no 'extra guest fee' when you indicate 4 will be staying. [Anything over 2 guests, is what they said triggers the fee - this didn't seem right.]
It was a beautiful property with a gorgeous view! The bedrooms were adequate size and the area was very pretty! The only complaint was it seemed the tv had no local channels. Most everything was streaming.
It was a nice, quiet location right on the lake. Lots of songbirds, loons, and deer! Master bed was comfortable. Older than I expected, with uneven flooring and bathrooms that appear original to the home. More rustic than I had anticipated but comfortable and cooler than where we're from in the south, so it worked out!
Seems like a personal home that's been turned into a rental property in the last few years. The house contains basic necessities but lacks some attention to children: Kayaks but no life jackets; board games but no basic toys for water; and a rule of no throwing rocks or sand (absolute torture for a young boy). Small details that wouldn't affect adults, otherwise a beautiful view and nice place to stay.
Our visit was dual purpose. I was there looking for properties to build a house on as well as convincing my adult children to move up north with us. After staying in this beautiful and comfortable home, it gave them the feel of living in the area. Cozy bon fires at night, kayaking and fishing all day. Dinners and card games in the evening with the family. And a safe and beautiful community surrounding us. They couldnt say no.
They fell in love with the UP and got a glimps into what future we can have together as well as putting down roots and starting their own families there. Its an experience we would not have had staying in a regular stuffy hotel room. Thank you for letting us enjoy your property. We will be staying with you again.
