The good:
- the view is stunning
- deer everywhere, I mean, I have never seen so many deer that will come right up to me and smell me
- reasonable price
- very quiet silent area, at least the weekend we went in October
- met Jesse, dude running the place. He's the real deal.
- the porch is great for sitting, resting, and viewing the scenery
- individual BBQ pits that are nice for each abode.
- the bed was comfortable
- waking up in the morning to look out the glass doors and see the deer and the lake was impressive.
- everyone who lives around the area were friendly
Opportunities for improvement:
- outdated and old, tired. They are steadily working on the property and are only about 1 year into a full renovation as of this writing, so it will take time.
- extremely tiny, you get just enough room for a bed, bath, and a two burner stove/fridge.
- stickers. I haven't seen more stickers per square inch in my entire life. They know about it, have been fighting them, have made progress, and then they burst back. It is a steady fight.
- the slope from the kitchen to the glass door was about a 6 inch drop down, really unlevel building.
- there were some areas not real clean, other areas really clean. I pointed out one area and the manager took a photo and seemed appropriately concerned.
- the friendliness of the deer was both amazing and scary. If you do not want wildlife, LOTS of wildlife coming right up to you, this is not your place.
We enjoyed our visit and plan on coming back. I think of it as a glamping plus experience.
