Across the street from Van Andel Arena. Easy parking in hotel lot ($33/night, which is fair for downtown GR).
Came to GR to see TSO Christmas show with my 2 teens. We had a queen suite and it had a great view of downtown, and we could monitor arena traffic from our room. Room was well-equipped and we enjoyed the setup with 2 queen beds and my son slept on the pull-out in the living room. The kitchen had an apartment size fridge, electric cooktop and dishwasher.
We had a few hours to spare before the show, so we went through a walk through downtown to the DGX about 6 blocks away and picked up ice cream bars, snacks and drinks for after the show. We logged into our family streaming account on the room tv, so the room was ready for complete chill mode after we got back.
We could see that a line was forming for the concert, so we went downstairs, crossed the street and got in line. We had a great time at the show. The concert ended at 9:15 pm. We were back to our room by 9:30. I went down to The Foolery restaurant (located on ground floor of hotel, open until 10pm on Sunday) and ordered their specialty pizza. I was back to the room before 10pm with a delicious 6 slice New York style pizza. After a night at an intense rock concert, it was exactly what we needed! Our drinks were cold in the fridge, and our ice cream bars were the perfect dessert.
We all slept luxuriously on nice bedding with plenty of pillow. The hot breakfast was delicious and above par! Great trip!
