Hummingbird House is clean and spacious, and has pretty much everything you need. The views are very pretty and there is plenty of outdoor space to enjoy--with decking on three sides and lots of outdoor furniture and three sets of sliding doors.
The only negative I would mention is that the laundry room is on the other side of the bedroom wall, so you can hear the washing machine when it is running and it was somewhat loud. Also, there is no TV, but if you want to watch TV (as we did) a laptop and your own streaming service works just fine. Internet was functional--a touch slow but that is common in rural areas. It's located about ten minutes from town by car, so you get a true country experience while still being close enough to all the Grass Valley shops and restaurants.
The bed is large and quite comfortable, as is the sofa. There's a functional little work space, and the kitchen has everything you need, including a gas stove and full-size fridge. Note that the "bedroom" isn't an enclosed room, but has separation from the other areas of the cottage, so someone sleeping late likely would not be disturbed by activities in the kitchen or living room areas.
Hummingbird House is a great value and very comfortable, and Tal and Audra are communicative and accommodating hosts. It was pretty close to perfect, and we would definitely stay here again.
