I booked this villa as a base from which to attend a family wedding (so, no pressure!)
On our first full day we invited family and friends for an informal get together, and their reactions on entering the vaulted great room were as ours had been the day before - "WOW!"
The covered terrace was a great place to eat, drink, relax and take occasional refuge from the fiercest sunlight or occasional spectacular downpours, and the pool - which we imagined would be merely "a nice extra" - was absolutely invaluable, and hugely appreciated by kids and adults alike.
The house had absolutely everything we needed, was kept spotlessly clean by Nikki, is brilliantly located for Holetown, the beach (Kerry at the Fairmont makes a mean Bloody Mary, and thankyou to Doctor Cool for slathering us in Aloe Vera...), and more restaurants than we had time for. But whilst impressive, the house is also welcoming and homely (we never felt like impostors!), so much so that on our final night we cancelled our table at Tides, preferring to spend it "at home".
The garden, discreetly maintained by Kevin, is as beautiful as the house, if not more so. Apart from the regular frog chorus from dusk onwards, visitors included hummingbirds, dragonflies, lizards, a family of green monkeys and a litter of kittens.
Suffice to say we are as keen to return as we were reluctant to leave.
