This historic house reminded me of my grandma's house full of wonderful childhood memories and is the perfect place to stay and visit Holland, MI for the tulip bloom.
(Being a historic house means there are a few quirks but nothing to interrupt a wonderful visit.)
Right around the corner is Tulip Lane(s) with blocks of beautiful tulips for a morning or evening walk. Just a few blocks away is Centennial Park, the lovely downtown with shops and restaurants, and the Lake Macatawa.
It is also a great location to quickly get to other attractions - commercial tulip garden, Dutch village, etc. - in 10-15 minutes. We also recommend driving around the lake to Holland Harbor and the big red lighthouse.
The house was supplied with plenty of linens, the beds were comfortable, and little touches like chocolates and bedside coffee/tea cups made it feel homey and comfortable.
We took advantage of the great restaurants and bakeries just blocks away and did not do any cooking but the kitchen seemed stocked well with the basics.
Our local contact communicated with us prior to arrival, was available during our stay if we needed anything, and was overall very kind and helpful (e.g. sharing their top must see/do list for our short visit).
We would definitely stay here again and...
the tulips were beautiful!
(note: we visited the week before the annual tulip festival in Holland, MI)
