Great beach, great location, great weather & good price.Life is too short to be negative or judgmental so I won't. If you're going to rent here, I would read the rest of the reviews and decide for yourself. May God bless Gertrude and her grandson. My wife thought the architecture of our space was really cool. Lastly, if you need to wash your dog, the showerhead can be hand held for an easy wash with great water pressure.
Very nice, small but perfect for a couple who doesnât mind just having a place to sleep and rest. If you plan on spending a lot of time on the beach this place is perfect.
We really enjoyed this charming place. It is quite artistic, with nice brick work and arches. Excellent shower. The bed was quite comfortable. Readers should look at the caveat in the host's description of her place-- it is not for the typical Wild Dunes tourist. One downside was due to the extreme heat, the A/C went out 3 times, which was readily fixable once we found the right breaker. Overall, we loved our stay.
Cozy, very clean. Communication was great, short walk to the beach. As long as you read the amenities, there are no surprises. It was quiet and so lovely. A very Unique place to stay and we enjoyed the visit. NOTE: Bed is very firm, couch is soft.
We really enjoyed this location. The description aptly describes the interior. Cool tile floors and interesting architecture. Very short walk to private beach. Growing up as a beach kid, the 70's vibe was super fun. Be advised that this is the bottom level of am occupied house. Outdoor sitting area could use a little attention, but that didn't affect the fun. Thanks for the stay!
This is vacation rental is listed as a vintage home. I would not consider this a vintage home. It is old that is for sure but it has not been kept up with. There is overgrown vegitation all over the property. Where you have to park there is tree with thorned vines all over it. Every time we got into our car mu daughter was pulling thornes out of her shoes. The property is littered with old items all over. Some old chairs, a trailer for maybe some kayaks.. old sandles clothes trash. Etc. Our first day arriving the house was very hot it was at 80 I notified the owner threw verbo and they responded that they would turn the air down so that it would cool off. A little before 10pm it was at 81 and we decided to gonand get some fans before all the stores closed. I spent 124 on fans and after arriving back a little after 10 a man pulled up. He lived upstairs and said he was not the owner but that the owner had contacted him about it. He asked if he could go in a trip the breaker.. he did so the tempature stayed at 80 most of the night by the time we got it it was 75 which was much better. The owner then responded after i told them that i had paid a food bit for fans and that the temperature was not acceptable. They responded by saying that they told the person living upstairs to put the air on 68 but did not realize that they were not home at the time. My elderly dog who has a heart condition was under a lot of stress panting excessively all night long. It was not a good start
This place was perfect for me and my boxer pup. Love the bohemian vibe of the place! Just a short stroll to the beach so Zuri made lots of friends early in the AM as I got my steps in on the beach. The basement apartment is quirky and a bit dark, but there are lots of lamps to light your way. Glad it was sunny as I spent little time inside during the day. Would stay again!
This stay has everything you need to enjoy a beach trip. Description was right on. Only thing I can say is please trim the palm tree hanging into the driveway and cut down the thorn vine next to where you park. The thorns grabbed me a few times. Other than that it was clean and convenient.
We stayed for 4 days in April and enjoyed our time! The beach is just a short walk away and the house is filled with anything you would need on a vacation.
If you are looking for a getaway that is affordable and easy to access the beach, this is a perfect option. The property is not fancy but it is very clean and had everything my husband and I needed. We brought our dog and since the apartment was quiet and dark, he felt comfortable being there by himself. The owners were accommodating and responsive and easy to work with and we felt comfortable/safe being on the property. This end of the island is less busy and was relaxing for us. If you are interested in modern or oceanfront, this is probably not the place for you. It is dark and older, but a short walk to the ocean. We enjoyed the unique style and quirky design and plan to return again when we can!
The property is listed as a house. Its a basement apartment, There's a tenant living on the main floor. There is no door on the shower, the opening is very narrow to get into the shower. The outside property is not clean debris, garage and concrete are everywhere. The overall house is dirty inside and out. When we reached to the owner she was not concerned about our grievances.
We found the place pretty easily. Itâs a bit tucked in, but we figured it out. Very rustic and cuteâŠ.but a bit chilly during that weekend. Super easy access to the beach and we enjoyed our beach time a lot! Lots of twists and turns and light switches to navigate in that small space but we figured that out too! The TV would not turn on and the ceiling fan could not be turned off, so those things were a bit annoying but overall we had a great time!
This is one of those places where you need to study every photo and carefully read the description and the reviews. If you do that and understand what you are getting then you will be very happy. The location couldn't be much better. That end of the beach is very quiet. The house is unusual and interesting. It reminds me of a hobbit home. It has everything but nothing is top shelf. I stayed there with my dog so she could have a beach vacation and that worked out great. The tiny shower has a wand so you can bathe your dog after the beach. I enjoyed it.
This is a great location with close beach access. It is pretty spacious for a studio with a lot of small nooks. The bed was comfortable and the temperature was ok even though we had snow and cold weather. We had multiple visits outside our doors from a beautiful kitty. The red kitchen sink is one of the highlights.Communication with the host was initially good until we couldn't get hot water on the morning we were leaving and the host was unavailable. But they provided an explanation and a resolution which was acceptable to us.In addition to the uniqueness of the rental, we had a unique experience with the area getting 2" of snow. Roads and bridges were closed requiring detours to get onto the island and EVERYTHING was shut down. None of the restaurants were open - including on Sullivan Island. The grocery store was closed. Even the Subway was closed! The National Parks visitor centers were closed. We did take the opportunity to walk on the snowy beach and did some geocaches.Note to self: always check the rental's hot water on arrival.
