Overall, what I learned from this stay is to stay clear of properties overseen by management companies. They simply don't have the same hands-on relation to a property as actual owners. That said, this is a beautifully decorated, comfortable accommodation with a few issues, some of which may not affect all renters:
1. THE POOL The owners have unwisely planted unwatered, shedding bamboo right next to the pool, and it makes ALOT of daily contributions to the pool: not just 'a few leaves' as house notes indicate. Owners also don't grasp some basics of pool maintenance: when I arrived the over-chlorinated water was six inches beneath the level of the skimmer, probably worsening the Japanese garden in the pool when I arrived. If you don't swim, such issues won't matter.
THE KITCHEN is more kitchenette than proper kitchen, with no venting or traditional oven/stovetop, just a portable two-burner and (large) toaster oven, plus a microwave. Kitchen utensils are minimal, though the few pans that exist are pretty good.
NEIGHBOR NOISE - I had the misfortune of having two screaming downstairs neighbors during my stay, going at least two rounds daily, with no clear winner. This underscored a major flaw in the construction of these two rentals: the stairwell leading to the upper unit has an adjacent interior door (mercifully, locked) that openly connects to the lower unit. Any loud noise from the lower unit is thereby amplified.
OFFSTREET PARKING: Difficult to maneuver.
