Disappointing but pretty

It is a lovely hotel with great potential. There was hair and fuzz behind the bathroom door and trash in the garbage cans. The fridge has items inside. The fridge was in bad condition, making it impossible to use the space inside. No barked to keep the soda cans in place. They refused to bring us more towels. Only gave us 3 for 3 girls with long hair and 2 nights. Disappointing. I asked for a non-smoking fooor but got to smell cigar smoke all weekend. Also, the cleaning lady was smoking pot in the rooms while she cleaned. Easy to smell that as well. My toilet closet smelled like pot every time she was cleaning the rooms near us. The room service food was watery and cold. It came via robot so no reason for it to be so bad.

The fees that we have to pay and was supposed to get five dollars off or food or what not. For unexplainable reasons unable to use it and we were there for two nights so it should’ve been $10. What is not happy about that. Wait you nobody could explain why we are unable to use them. They just told us that there was nothing they could do about it.(really)

Booked 4 rooms for business travel, absolutely never again. The hotel smells like a dirty ash tray so bad that i am trying to wash the liner of my luggage. The smell of Marijuana was strong every day! One of our rooms had BEDBUGS with the only response from the hotel being to change rooms. I would never stay here again.

Very interesting and historic property. The room was nice. Bathroom was very spacious. A couple of minor issues, though. The hot water tap of the bathroom sink had very low water pressure, and the faucet was leaking slightly. Also, the location of this property isn’t very convenient - it is not close to anything. But the price was very reasonable considering how clean, quiet, historic, and relatively upscale this hotel is. One of the most affordable options in Kansas City.

Having not been to the Argosy in a while I was amazed at the decline in the property. Didn't look like they have done much in the line of keeping it looking nice. Looks like it hasn't been maintained very well. Overall look was worn and used. Probably will not go back until they do major renovations. Also, the casino layout was confusing and hard to get around. Late night food was also a problem unless you wanted a Hot Dog from the cart. My wife and I had to leave the property and go to a restaurant to eat after Midnight. Most casinos we go to at least have a late-night snack bar. Overall experience was below average.

Easy check-in. The staff are friendly, efficient, and go the extra mile to assist you. The room wasnt as clean as it should be (sticky floors, burn marks on furniture in non smoking room). The neighbors were smoking w*ed which made our room smell like skunk the entire night.
